After three weeks of applying Bactroban, my lips feel good as it doesn't seem to be very raw, although it becomes very white when in contact with water. But it is not good for long term use so the doctor suggests me to switch to Vaseline as daily moisturizer and apply Bactroban for three days when it flares up again.
Last night, I started applying Vaseline but this morning, when I brush my teeth, almost all of the dead skin has been washed away. I think that may be due to the sticky texture of Vaseline. I wanted to stop using it as I don't want my lips to become that raw like the time when I applied Betamethosone.
What kind of moisturizers do you suggest me to use, to keep the thin layer of dead skin on for longer but not build up that much? Coconut oil? or any other suggestions?
