Re: Mixing fats & carbs
Hi C.B,
What a great post, you clarified many issues for people. The most important point you made was the connection between stress and candida, something which is very much overlooked. I noticed this connection in 2006 and started to study it in depth and have since treated many thousands of yeast infected patients with adrenal fatigue. The hormone to understand is cortisol, once this drops your immune system's activity can plummet, and the you are really struggling with fatigue, poor immune system functioning (such as increased allergic response and increased acute infectious disease), you can also get brain fog, anxiety, depression,
Sugar and salt cravings, and many other issues.
It seems that everybody talks about diet, this food and that food - but everybody overlooks poor adrenal function (caused by stress), and once you understand the adrenal/candida connection you will be blown-away to discover that you can fast track your recovery by building strong adrenal health.
Digestion can become severely impaired due to high levels of epinephrine and cortisol, which happens a lot under acute stress. We call this "sympathetic dominance". Why do you think that those with chronic yeast infections can only eat a limited amount of foods, have lots of allergies, leaky gut and cannot tolerate a wide variety of foods? By learning stress reduction techniques, building adrenal health, balancing cortisol levels and improving the body's stress axis (HPA axis), you are well on your way to finally beating candida - quickly and permanently. It's all in my book Candida Crusher, and it's been lacking in all other books on this topic.
Those with
food intolerances would do well on a combination of enzymes and probiotics temporarily, until they improve their own production.
