I felt this way at first as well healing and posted about it.

It seemed clumpy and not really all that moisturizing, but then after my lips peeled I noticed it slowed buildup dramatically.

The fact that you don't get buildup anymore may put you in a different scenario than I was in because I was still getting buildup before I started using this.

Putting vaseline or aquaphor over it may help with the drying feeling.
