I almost died of candida overgrowth, never had oral thrush. I did have male thrush though, from time to time.

Once I was in a hospital with a guy who had real SYSTEMIC candidiasis, meaning he was in sepsis, which has a very low survival rate. Never had oral thrush too. He survived it though.

You know what doctors told him? That he probably caught the fungus while gardening. Ignorants. When you know that we all have candida... Run away from those useless doctors.
