What should I expect from gastroenterologist app?

Hi I had a doc app today and managed to get her to refer me to a gastroenterologist.What should I expect from this?I think I have Tapeworm so would this be worthwhile or not?What experiences has anyone else had?

Now I just want to have a moan about my doctor.She is the 3rd one I've seen.I told her I think I have a Tapeworm and she looked at me like I had sprouted horns on my head.I told her my story and wrote down all the meds I've taken so far and said how I was feeling a bit better.She said what is prazi!She told me the internet is dangerous and I have IBS and just have to live with it like people have to live with Arthritis and ms.I said what was the mass of blob stuff that I passed with ribbony bits coming out of it then.She said she didn't know,well I suppose they are called GENERAL practitioners for a reason.I said what other option did I have but to try and treat myself since I was getting no help from them.This was when she said she was going to refer me to a gastro.I'm sure she thought I was a neurotic looney.Ah well I should have known better.
