Would it be fair to summarize it all as saying this is a closer look at the physiology of being stuck in a freeze/fight or flight state? Would you guys be open to that possibility without currently understanding exactly how?
The most important part:
"If such a vicious cycle of glutamate excitotoxicity, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial dysfunction does indeed underpin ME/CFS pathology, it may not be clear where exactly the root problem lies."
I'm sounding like a broken record, but at this point in time there is not a clear consensus among Science and medicine what the root cause of all this is. I've long claimed that looking through the lens of psychiatry is not the answer but I completely realize that it's a logical option and empathize with people struggling with withdrawal and dependency.
I'm still optimistic as ever that I'll be able to have useful information to share in the near future.
