Selenium methionine is a better than the yeast. Also the other co-supplements are important to ease detox reactions the Iodine may put forth.
Real salt / chloride for the bromide detox
Magnesium, for the enzyme reactions, citrate, malate, glycinate are good ones.
Vit B and C. This is the bare minimum IMO.

For scalp problems I have found borax to work very well externally; used in shampoo or on its own (mixed with water, let it sit for an hour or so. Boron / borax is also good internally. Takes care of fungus infections and work well with iodine.
