I've noticed that many health-conscious people, including practitioners, advocate eating locally grown produce. They feel the food is better for you. I have spoken with some of the farmers in my area and they have told me that they spray their crops with insecticides. If they do this, why do so many people think locally grown is healthier? Are the chemicals used by local farmers less toxic than those used by the big corporations?
Also, there are many brands of canned salmon labeled "wild Alaskan" that one can purchase from a store for about $3 or $4. Is this a good source of Omega-3s?
Very interested in getting your feedback.
Thanks, Dr. Jeff!
