Chances are you have a mucosal inflammation there no matter if its candida or bacteria or whatever...
Raw garlic could be too hard for an inflammed mucosa ...and as others said try eating it with food SMALL AMOUNT first and increase as per your tolerance.
it would be such a pitty to take it out but too much pain is no good sign IMO.
for me was easier in the beginning to mashed it into a paste then mix with bit water and after with some food. i started with 1 clove PER DAY.there are different types of garlic some are very light in potency maybe its better FOR NOW to try lighter ones
btw light ginger tea is very good for inflammation but see if you can tolerate can give you die off. and check if you can find MARIGOLD for tea - is antiinflammatory and MILD antifungal. i used it before with great success. i cant take it now cause its also diuretic and reduce stomach acid.
