"Do you believe some symptoms have one root cause and some have multiple?" I honestly can't think of one medical symptom of ANY kind that has one root cause. Seriously, try to think of any symptom under the sun (broken bone, inflammation, dry eye) that can only be caused by one specific thing. I can't.
