Hv, aka James, from the Truth in Medicine forum went Rage Mode on a lot of members here on CZ. Also, some loved the idea that he was raging, so they taunted him more - and the cycle got worse. He is primarily a herbalist and believes we should be supplementing as nature intended, primarily through herbs, foods, and wholesome supplements. On one hand, he is evidence based, but on the other, he believes anecdotal or self-experimenters using high dosages of any substance like Iodine or Iodide are doing harm to some people. The wars raged on until he left and created his own forum according to his own principles. Hence, you will see many butt-hurt posts about the dangers of iodine/iodide consumption in high dosages. The truth is, people here are often not well and seek "alternatives" to the mainstream gold-standard double-blind placebo controlled studies carefully selected into prestigious journals sprinkled across the Web (lest we mention neglected studies or flat out rejected from even being listed due to some conflict). Even the journals themselves are flawed, systematically crafted to agendas and bias. The alternative side is often seen as worse, but in many ways it is better than the vested interest in mainstream pro-drug sales journals. In all, he makes good points too.
