Can't believe nobody mentions acetylcholine for constipation
Can't believe nobody in this forum mentions acetylcholine in relation to constipation.
I run into mentions of it in many other places, for example:
"I've had good luck in helping to relieve constipation by taking some cholinergic supplements (cholinergic means aiding acetylcholine)." That person said they take Huperzine-A and Galantamine, which are both supplements you can buy at ordinary vitamin websites, along with some choline, Vitamin C, and Vitamin B-5. "Overall result was improved motility throughout the gastro tract,...and more frequent elimination. I had to play with the dosing to find the effective amount without side effects of diarrhea".
Personally, I've been slowly trying a few supplements that are precursers to acetylcholine, and have been having much less constipation so far. I'm starting the supps slowly because I like to keep track of if/how much something works.
So far my mix has been vitamin B5 (in the pantethine form) and manganese - both in very small doses. Just 1/4 capsule of each has helped.
