There are all kinds of quick fixes out there, and on fasting I can speak with a certain authority here.
Having been on several, my longest fast lasted just under 40 days. THE most important thing to bodily health and its ability to heal is a good healthy clean diet.
organic fruits and veggies when possible
NO wheat (modern-day wheat is no longer natural)
GOOD fats (animal and vegetable, IMO)
good fats from animal include butter, ghee, lard (from clean-fed animals)
good fats from plants include "raw", "cold-pressed", "organic" and "unfiltered" oils such as coconut oil, olive oil, etc. (canola oil, for example is AWFUL, the human body doesn't even recognize it)
Anyhoo, fast away, it's an incredibly wonderful way to cleanse the body; but you must get used to the idea of a permanent lifestyle change the rest of the time.
