Found out the hard way about this scam...
When someone tries to call you from jail, you receive a recorded message prompting you to set up an account with a required minimum of $25.00. Only then can you talk with the inmate. Most of us do it because it's someone we know and love in jail right?
Next day the inmate is let out(ROR or otherwise), leaving probably $10-$15 in the required account. You guessed it- It's non-refundable... That must really rack up some change! Cha-Ching!
