Infectious Disease Doc

I have finally obtained an appointment with our local University 's Infectious disease Specialists, even after my GP told them I was DOP. My cardiologist got me the appt.
What can I expect here? What else was I supposed to do? Do I fight my skin/GI worms by myself? Why in the hell do docs hide their heads in the sand?
Perhaps I AM DOP. Ok, then - I don't care. I just want to be out of my misery.
An old attorney friend told me that if anyone with an MD after their name DE CLAREs you 'delusional', all kinds of bad things can happen and you are setting yourself up, for example, to not being able to own property, drive a car, OWN a car, etc. Wow...
