Actually, I was just studying some more about this, and I think that the niacin is a cofactor in the second step of the COMT pathway, too, not actually for the first step, which is COMT. I would imagine that there is a feedback loop in that pathway, too.

These are similarities in the metabolism of neurotransmitters, since histamine and adrenaline are both neurotransmitters.
