Re: Update on standard adrenal treatment

Standard adrenal treatment worked well for me. I followed Dr. Lam protocol. I also did my research and added other supplements that were not suggested by Dr. Lam. It is important to treat digestive issues so that minerals would be properly absorbed. I used Dr. James Wilson protocol (he removed it from his web site. If you look my posts, you will find it). I took ZMA 3 times a day before meal (did not follow instructions on the bottle) instead just magnesium. Pure magnesium would make digestive issues worse. Vitamins A, D are also important (Dr. Lam does not mention them). Later I added Selenium about 400 mcg a day 200 + 200. Generally, naturopatic Drs suggest to avoid wheat, which contains selenium. Do not add all the supplements at the same time. Thyroid support should come later when adrenals are stable. Another thing is with poor digestion iron would no be absorbed properly. Dr. Lam says that low iron is good. He suggests not to take iron at all if one is not anemic. I found that low iron prevents FT3 hormones from working properly. Familiy doctors rarely do iron studies. They judge just by Ferritin level. People with AF (low thyroid) would have high Ferritin from, for exaple, inflammated/irritated gut. One naturopatic Dr suggested me to donate blood in order to reduce ferritin level. At that time, i had serum iron below low normal. I went to another doc. I would crawl out the donors office on all four if I gave blood that time.

I think this is remaining problem i have low iron. I also have high FT4 that probably means high RT3. I will check this soon.
