Yeah, I gather that Soly meant that contracting an infection is unrelated to genetics, etc. and depends on exposure, but that the pathogenicity of the infection depends on genetics, immune factors etc. However, this doesn't explain why exposure to some parasites (e.g. Giardia) simply passes through for some and becomes chronic for others. Obviously there are factors involved other than just exposure, and these are most likely related to the immune system, as you've pointed out. I just can't be bothered to argue with someone who doesn't make sense, and uses "lol" after almost every comment he/she makes, though I did laugh when I read the posts. :)
