I slowly sipped Stash licorice tea on days I needed extra energy & resilliance, and took Seriphos to lower night time cortisol. I just kept popping a cap or two whenever I felt jazzed up or uncomfortable...every hour or so...until the feeling went away.
A good 'wind down and get to sleep' formula was 2 to 4 capsules of Valerian root + 0.5mg-1mg melatonin,,,or 1mg melatonin time release + 1 or 2 seriphos.
If wired and sleep disrupted, no TV or computer surfing after 7p.m. !!! no joke. Reading and chill music only.
