Re: Anyone try any of these natural alternatives? Yes but L-Tryptophan is not included in any of them.

Thank you so much for your response Brian...I was beginning to wonder if I was visiting the wrong forum or going down the wrong path as no one really responded or heard of amino acids! I am going to try this but this is especially imminent for my daughter, who out of desperation is going to a psychiatrist tomorrow --I am sure he is going to put her on some sort of antidepressant. She is unable to focus and get herself motivated to finish college because of her anxiety and depression.

One problem with me is that no other ssri's have worked for me, with the exception of a small amount of desipramine, which I know raises my levels of Norepinephine, but I can only take this for a week on and off as it does nothing after taking for a period of time. 5HTP, SAM-E, nor tyrosine has never worked for me in the past(???) so am wondering if I need to complement tryptophan with some other natural herb or amino acid to balance more than just serotonin.

Anyway, I will read the web site information you recommended--and am so glad you found help and are doing better naturally! Thank you for the info...
