Insulin resistance and fasting
Hello,
I have been diagnosed with insulin resistance. Basically, my pancreas is producing too much insulin, known from two GTT tests results and other symptoms such as numb feet and hands, but no one can tell me why.
I am a vegetarian for all my life, I do eat dairy and eggs, seldom eat processed foods. I also exercise regularly. I eat two meals and snack every two hours, usually, seeds, nuts, dry fruits and fruits. I have not eaten fruits for last two weeks. I try not to eat too many carbs, like breads, pasta etc.
I saw some videos of Dr. Fung on YouTube about fasting and controlling both blood
Sugar and insulin. I have started
Water Fast since yesterday, but my hands and feet are still numb. This condition is also affecting my thyroid, liver and kidneys, I know this from tests and pain in those areas.
Does anyone know if fasting will help my condition or does anyone have similar experience?
Thank you.
