I've heard in the groups that there is a lot of vitamin c in the adrenal glands. I'm not aware that it is important for conversion of hormones. I wonder if it is there for antioxidant protection of the adrenal gland in a way that is similar to selenium's role in protecting the thyroid glands.
Some natural processes are pro-oxidant and require antioxidants to protect the body.

If so, that sounds like mainstream for-profit medicine--put a bandaid on the problem but leave the underlying problem intact to ensure the patient returns regularly for a long time.
