Fever blisters and iodine?

Ok. So I've been on iodine for a little over 6 or 7 weeks. Since I started I have had three different fever blister outbreaks. Typically I get an outbreak twice a year so this has me perplexed.

I have learned painting lugols in addition to my regular regiment shortens the lifespan of the virus dramatically but I figured taking large doses of iodine would help to curb this not make them happen every other week. Has anyone else had continued outbreaks while taking iodine?  I started taking 50 mg but went to 100 after massive detox symptoms. Now I take 200 to 300 a day (seems to be my magic number). Also different for this new outbreak is I have a canker sore on my tongue which I never get and another on the inside of my right cheek. Sigh.
