Had my CT scan a week ago. Report states that the solid pancreatic tumor is “stable”. I was afraid that it reflected lack of attention to diet, such as sugar. My energy good, altho not 100% of a yr ago. Hair has returned a darker shade than before, less gray. Friends & relatives say I look better than a few months earlier. The general blood test of a multitude of stuff came back with all within range except one. As for the blood cancer markers, the CEA went down, whereas the CA19-9 went sky high. As for the CA19-9, I believe what Dr Wm Donald Kelley mentioned, it goes high when taking lots of pancreatic enzymes. They are just doing their job of dissolving tumors, hence the high numbers.
For me personally, I took the alternative route. The choice is yours when you come to that proverbial “fork in the road”. But, have been reminded that whichever course you take with this disease, you must be confident that this is the best decision for you. If not, you lose. Should you leave the decision up to your spouse, child, etc. you are not likely to make it.
PS. You need the services of a doc that is knowledgeable in alternative cancer therapies. Hard to do it on your own, but be a well-informed patient.
