Re: Iodine supplementation and athletes?

Sounds like you're dehydrated to me. It could certainly be because of Iodine supplementation and the detox, sure...the extra work on your kidneys.

We all respond to Iodine supplementation differently and nobody can tell you how long your detox will last. One thing that's been reported numerous times is that the detox comes in waves. Some people do very well increasing the dose quickly, others do not...

Are you doing the full protocol with all of the companion supplements?

please see the section on salt loading... that assists the kidneys in clearing the bromide.

An aside- I'm in my mid fifties. A few years ago for a few different reasons I decided to give up gluten. Jeez, almost 4 years ago now. The most amazing benefit, to me, was the complete eradication of pain in my body. You're not there yet, but one of the lovely things many experience is painful bottoms of feet upon awakening- that's gone. I have screws in one ankle... no pain. I work out 5x a week and swim 2x per week. No pain. ever. I have energy and a spring in my step :)

It makes me wonder whether some of the pain I experienced while in my early days of supplementation were diet related rather than detox related.

Gluten causes inflammation in susceptible people. There are other foods that cause inflammation as well, gluten is key for me though. Just a thought :)

How's your diet?

oooo, here's a good article on dehydration, written by one of the CZ originals. Andreas Moritz :
