I bet you'll get important gains from appropriate adrenal and thyroid support.
A close female friend with a long history of PTSD really got some quick gains from pregnenolone and glutame or GABA. I've described more of the details in a few recent posts in this group.
She also had decades of sleep difficulties. Some combination of Mg, melatonin, theanine and changes in diet helped with that before she started on adrenal support.
She also decided to have her silver-mercury Amalgam fillings removed and do heavy metal detox--Cutler protocol. She also had been on Armour for thyroid support for over a decade. Her symptom list was very similar to yours. Her hair tests--one before starting on Armour and the other a decade later just before getting Amalgam removed are #368 here. http://livingnetwork.co.za/chelationnetwork/hairtest/hairtest22/
My impression from people who have fairly serious adrenal problems that require some medication need to learn to "stress dose". They don't have the ability to make the extra stress hormones they need in times of sickness or other abnormal stressors. Getting extra rest takes time. This is not what healthy people do; they make more stress chemicals. Why not just provide more of them in stressful times.
From my friend's experience and from reports in the groups it seems difficult for those experiencing substantial adrenal fatigue to remember to "stress dose." Usually I need to remind my friend. Her functional medicine doctor said he also has some AI/AF and has to do the same.
