Hey, group, I would like to join you all. I want to fast a substantial period of time (a week? 2 weeks? 40 days? I feel afraid to shout out a big number in a definite way lest someone ... react in a way that would not be helpful to me ... but anyway I saw this thread and was attracted to it because it seemed to fit me. By this I mean that it seemed supportive and relaxed while acknowledging that fasting is challenging... I so agree with the need for support and venting! I just know how fasting almost instantly heals my depression/anxiety issues and I want to go all the way ... physical mental and spiritual healing. I'd love to check in on this thread with others and release my discomfort/anxiety as well as give and receive ideas for carrying oneself through a fast. So far my ideas that have been working are: podcasts, twitter, (thinking about) getting netflix (I will do that! ) ... I need to make a list of my reasons for fasting, too, I guess. I'm just this minute completing hour 10 of my (all right, I admit I hope 40-day) fast. :)
