Start with a lower dose, like one to two tablespoons of coffee. Buy organic medium or light roast preferably
Bring 3 cups of water to the boil in a non-metal pot (one that's lined like a non-stick pot is preferable) add the coffee and boil gently for ten mins.
Let cool to body temperature and strain out the coffee (a coffee plunger is helpful for this).
You can add a few pinches of Sea Salt or baking soda but not completely neccesary. You can also add 1/2 a teaspoon of molasses as this helps the enema be easy to retain (if you have molasses).
There is debate as to which side to lie on for the enema. I lie on my left side with my knees right up towards my chest and administer the enema SLOWLY. Lying on left side keeps enema fluid in the sigmoid colon where it is transported to the liver. then once all fluid is inside I gently roll onto my back and then my right side so it can flow further up my colon.
Retain for no longer than 15 mins. If you retain too long or if you lie on your right side to begin with, you may notice more of a caffeine buzz afterwards which can contribute to feeling anxious or shaky for a few hours. If this happens, eat some protein like some soaked nuts and drink heaps of water with pinches of Sea Salt . You really must get some Sea Salt :)
After releasing the enema, clean the nozzle with hot soapy water and run plain water through the bag/hose to clean it.
After the enema is done you will need to rest and drink lots of water, as well as replenish electrolytes either with juice or water with honey, pinch of baking soda, sea salt etc or you will feel dizzy and rubbish.
