Well. I'm a biochemistry major up here at the University of Michigan so I have been reading all of the scientific papers written by Dr. Abraham, Dr. Brownstein, and Dr. Flechas.
From what I have read, the iodine/iodide combination is supposed to be most effective since some tissues prefer Iodine and some prefer Iodide while some like both.
Wow! 500mg is a lot. My abnormal thyroid tests occurred when I was taking 200mg 5 years ago which is why I want to stay at about 50mg per day this time.
Yesterday, I read one of Dr. Abraham's papers that showed that abnormal thyroid function was not seen significantly until one went above about 175mg per day. This falls in line with my experience at 200mg.
