Re: Long-Time Iodine User with New Abnormal Labs...Need Advice

I don't understand why you would want to lower the iodine?

To find if you're hypothyroid, take your temperature first thing in the morning. If this temperature is consistently low, you're probably hypothyroid. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/temperature/

High TSH can mean an assortment of things:
- your body is trying to get more Iodine into the thyroid producing cells so more thyroid hormone can be produced
- your body is (re)building NIS
- ....

Low TSH can mean two things:
- everything is okidokie
- your body is so deficient in Iodine that it is switching to T3 production over T4 production

So the TSH really is not helpfull.
