If I squeeze my buns soon enough, I can ordinarily stop a fart.
I have found that pointing my toes slightly outward, gives me better pressure to stop a fart. I can point my toes slightly outward, and still keep walking, or keep climbing a ladder.

I do let some farts go when others have turned out to be too close. I need to assume people are around the next corner. Sometimes I expect a fart will be silent, but it turns out to be noisy.
