Tired of living like a hermit

I know not all of you here are living like hermits but to those who are (and those who aren't), I've refused to go out in public for years now because I get anxious around people & I've told myself next time I'm going out in public, my lips would be healed but guess what nothing much has changed. Ive been trying to heal this for for the past 5 years but each time I failed. Recently someone (uklad) posted about how he decided to let go & just move on with his life. That made me think & realize what's the point of hiding everyday & sitting at home all day long searching online for "cures" when nothing seems to work for me? My life is at a standstill, I'm getting older, my time on this planet is getting shorter, we have only have this one life that we know of. Maybe there is life after death but no one knows for sure, so why not just make the best of the time that you have right now? We're all gonna die someday & when you look back are you gonna regret the things you didn't do because you were so obsessed with your lips or you gonna regret not spending more time looking harder for a cure? There's so many things that we're missing out on because we're too worried about the state of our lips. Life's too short.
I believe our lips can be healed but stressing about it won't do us any good. I'll still try to look for was to heal but in the meantime the best thing to do is to manage this by applying a moisturizer (bepanthen) before I go to sleep & remove it when I wake up to prevent the crusts from forming. Raw lips are still better than those flaky lips though and people won't really notice.
Like I said, I'm gonna go out & move on with my life. I'm not telling to you what you should or shouldn't do but only expressing my opinion on what I think is best way for me to deal with this. I know this isn't very helpful information & I'm sorry if this isn't what you wanna "hear" but at least made some of you think a little.
And no, I'm not leaving this forum.
