What a hidden gem this forum is. I've just stumbled across this site, and the depth of information here is great.
I'm currently on my third day of water fasting. I have water fasted previously but never past the 40-ish hours mark. I'm a big guy at around 320 lbs, and my motivations for fasting are weight loss, discipline and to divorce myself from negative eating behaviours that I have developed over several years.
So far I feel great, with no lethargy at all. In fact, my energy is probably rising, which seems to be consistent with reports from other water fasters. On day one and two I was hungry for most of the day, but on day three, that feeling has really subsided. Also the craving for food has greatly reduced today, which is good news.
My original goal with this was the do some kind of alternate day fasting regimen, but as things have been fairly uneventful over the last few days, I've felt compelled to continue. I'm not sure what my goal is at this stage, in terms of the length, but I'm happy to take each day as it comes for now.
I'm meditating consistently and also using visualization, which I feel are both having a positive effect. I have also switched to cold showering in the morning, which is a challenge, but acts as a reinforcement for what I am trying to achieve.
I came here from Google whilst looking for information on electrolyte supplementation during a water fast. But I think that I can conclude that I should refrain from adding anything at this point, and just pay attention to my body.
