The idea that sodium intake should be limited or avoided was disproven over 20 yrs ago by a study that was redone (because the original had been funded by Cambell Soup) and shown to have been valid in the first place. The blood pressure connection is put forward by the common AMA ignorance about blood pressure, it's driving factors and how our systems health determines that. We all should have numerous other good examples of this type of organizational ignorance and how well intentioned but too busy or otherwise conflicted MDs parrot the company line, in the face of that line's erroneous position.
The only think I'd mention is that because you are eating animal flesh there are some products of nitrogen processing that we don't want building up in our cells, like Indoxyl. While most urine components can be reused, this is one we do not want to accumulate.
Most people who have practiced for a length of years and profess the superlative results of UT, like Prime Minister Desai, who I think practiced for most of his life and living to a fairly old age, follow the traditional practice of only a morning UT draught.
When I use UT for illness or while in retreat setting, I drink as much as comfortable, and this can be for over a week, and it is usually close to all produced thru the day and part of the night.
But, I don't think it is a cure all but rather an optimizer with special qualities, which includes a source of H2O that is called H3O(or something like that) by some because its our system processed cell water that is cellularly assimilated quickly and has benefits like healthy structered water does.
