As to your doctor, this is a very familiar response because Iodine and other very effective supplements like Colloidal Silver drastically reduce their income. They want to treat illness for your lifetime, not cure it. There is no money to be made in cures.

As to the negativism about iodine, it is true that for a very small minority of people, special precautions must be taken. Violien is correct that selenium MUST be taken with iodine, however the Dr. Brownstein Protocol does include 200mcg of selenium, and that works well for the majority of us. A tiny % of us need to take all the co-supplements for a month before starting a tiny amount of iodine, then titrate dosage up slowly. Fortunately for the majority, no problems other than normal detox.
