First-time poster here although I've browsed the board many times.
I have had an extremely uncomfortable yeast infection in my perianal region for the past two years. I've seen 12 doctors and finally found one willing to run some tests and put me on prescription antifungals. The results aren't back yet but I have had signs of candida/thrush for about the past 15 years so assume it's systemic.
I have tried everything under the sun & cannot get rid of this damn infection. Currently I'm on Nystatin/Diflucan along with herbal antifungals that I've been rotating. I've used many biofilm breakers, probiotics, detoxifying compounds. I've used ozone therapy, essential oil suppositories, etc.
I don't drink caffeine or alcohol and avoid dairy/carbs/sugar quite a bit. (If anything I might border on being too low in carbs). I did a heavy metals test (unprovoked though) which indicated I'm not too high in anything including Mercury. I've also seen a holistic dentist who said the problem is not due to any dental work.
What in the world am I doing wrong? I've modified my daily routines to a ridiculous degree & can't even say that I've made any definite progress.
