Re: Anyone that's been here awhile still dealing with parasites?
Hey, forbetterorworse - I can help you with that. I have seen a number of people healed in Jesus name - some spectacular some gradual. I have recovered pretty well myself and have increasingly good health.
It's not hard, but you have to start with the basis that God loves you and has actually already given you the healing in the sense that when Jesus took your sicknesses on the cross, it became your legal right. You don't have to persuade God at all, he is not turning away or refusing you, he loves you.
So how to get it over from a legal right to your experience?
First go over some healing scriptures to settle what I have told you, so you have some faith. As long as you are thinking you have to beg God into it, that is not really faith! The Bible says that by Jesus stripes on the cross "You were healed". (1 Peter 2:24)
Next, make sure you have a clear conscience and are treating others well. Not that we have to get everything right - it's just that not loving others, unforgiveness etc is an "engine" of sickness. Jesus said "this is my command that you love one another". If there is something you know is wrong confess it to God and believe in his mercy.
Next you have to ask in faith for the healing, PLUS drive off the root of the sickness in Jesus name. That means you need to "speak to the mountain" ie do just like Jesus did and rebuke or curse that sickness in His name. Out loud and directly.
Finally, don't doubt: "If our hearts condemn us not, we have confidence and we know we have the things we have asked of him". It may take time, not because God is powerless, but because God honours our faith and "according to your faith be it unto you". Plus faith is only real when tested and proven (read the parable of the sower or James 1-2)). Next time you feel sickness symptoms, rebuke them and start thanking God that he has already answered you. Thank Jesus that he has already taken that pain for you on the cross. Whatever you feel like, make yourself be glad and rejoice in hope - that is an act of faith also. Keep reading those healing scriptures and quote them out loud like Jesus did to temptation in the wilderness. Refuse despair, sadness and fear.
Also do whatever you can practically, such as from the forums here. The Bible says in the first chapters that we have "dominion" on earth not God. He is Owner we are tenants - it is not all up to God. But he is very glad to help when asked: James 5:15 "the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
