Hi everyone, some of you may perhaps recognise my username from the peeling lips forum.
For the past 2 months I have been on a rigid gut healing protocol planned by a naturopath. It involves taking supplements as well as fermented foods and basic meat and vegetables.
I am perhaps one of the few people that is treating myself using real data. A stool test I had confirmed high inflammatory IgA which my naturopath says is one of the biggest indicators of leaky gut.
My bowel movements are all over the place at the moment, lots of bloating and diarrhea. In fact I went to the toilet 4 times today with very little coming out. The fewer foods I seem to eat the more problems I seem to get, and I don't understand why this is happening as I was reasonably ok for the first few weeks of the plan.
One good indicator is that if I eat something which my gut doesn't agree with one of the best telling symptoms is my lips which will peel and dry out. The weird thing is that I am experiencing very little lip peeling anymore, but my gut symptoms are becoming more unpredictable, especially over the last few days with no change in diet.
Perhaps I am eating some foods which are contaminated, i.e. sauerkraut. I have noticed my tummy feeling a little funny after taking glutamine supplement as well, and I'm not sure why this would be?
I would really appreciate some pointers right now, i'm feeling really sick.
