Protocol for Triclabendazole (and/or others?) for Fasciola?

Hello all!

Thank you all so much for your contribution to this forum. I have a question, though I'm working with a doctor right now, I still feel in the dark. I think some people here have taken these medications before or dealt with these issues before. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice.

I believe I have fasciola. I'm not sure if it's fasciola hepatica or fasciola buski. I sent pictures of my stool to Dr Chieu, who was recommended here, and he said it was fasciola buski. But, after taking triclabendazole, I've had a distinct feeling in my liver. So maybe it is also or only fasciola hepatica.

My question, and my confusion, is about what the rest of the protocol is. Dr Chieu hasn't been able to explain it to me so that I can understand, maybe because of language or time. He said to take Triclabendazole. I am taking that now. And he said I will need Praziquantel and Niclosamide later.

But, I don't understand how much and when I take it, or if I take Triclabendazole again before Prazi and Niclo. I am frustrated because these medications are expensive and I need to organize it now- they get shipped from far away, and I need to plan now what I should take and when. Or, if it depends on how I react, I need to know what the possibilities are. To be honest, I feel really upset and frustrated that he's not answering my questions.

So - I am taking Triclabendazole now.

How do I know if it is working? What symptoms should I see?

After that, I wait two or three weeks, and then what? Do I take Triclabendazole again? Or one of the other medications? And how do I know? I would prefer a doctor tell me what to do, but I am just not getting answers and it's difficult.

I appreciate so much anyone's thoughts and help.

Best,

Lisa
