Hv, James is exceptionally smart. I've learnt from other people's experience high iodine is actually a direct cause of hypothyroidism. I've seen a loved one suffer horrible symptoms of hypothyroidism not knowing their multivitamin had 100% of the daily dose & not knowing that just a mere half a gram yes 1/2 GRAM of pink Himalayan salt has 250mcg of iodine & 2.5 grams or 1/2 teaspoon of celtic sea salt has 108mcg iodine , plus the diet consisted of dairy & other things that also has iodine. After a period of time, this took a toll & TSH is elevated to 10. I told them quit the vitamin with the iodine, no more of that type of salt. They've been to hospital twice getting saline IV drip & felt better after. So yes, Hveragerthi doesn't want to see people getting hurt & making the same mistakes others have done. No one should really need to supplement the diet with iodine. ..we get more than the RDA from our food. Keep track of your numbers cause no one should ever go through the hell of hypothyroidism.
