Here is my answer to the initial question:

just follow the instructions of The Master Cleanse and be done with it. It's written in black and white. Why do people assume that there are lines written in invisible ink?....that there must be something more to this, and that the good doctor left it out on purpose, just to drive us all crazy?

There is nothing mentioned about shakes or flushes that are supposed to be done during the MC. If there were, he would have written it down.

Although this forum is mostly very helpful, it also can get very confusing at times. The Master Cleanse is so very simple....please let's leave it that way!
