Joint Inflammation but rheumatoid factor came back in normal range

A few months ago, I woke with joint pain in both knees, arising almost overnight. I felt a slight pain when walking up or down stairs. I assumed it was from running or hiking, but it didn't go away. I went to an accupuncturist that I go to from time to time and she seemed to think it was arthritis.

Since the pain was in both knees I assumed it was Rheumatoid Arthritis , not osteoarthritis. I took a blood test to measure the Rheumatoid Arthritis antigen, but that was in normal range.

If I've had pain in both knees for several months and its not Rheumatoid Arthritis , what else could this be? Any ideas?
