The only practical electric vehicles I ever drove was an old Raymond stand-up forklift like this in a warehouse, and an electric golf cart, both needed to be charged at the end of the day, and the batteries were huge and toxic. Where did the charge come from? Unicorn farts? They both had a range of maybe ten miles. I wouldn't trust an EV more than ten miles from the house. Unless you keep a gas generator in the trunk, with a few 5-gallon cans of gasoline.
