Re: Test "friendly" bacteria

Of course I've seen mention of kefir many times here but know nothing about making kefir or where to get grains. I'd definately want to try it out but I'm just not familiar with it at all. I've been taking probiotics in pill form all this time but obviously they weren't absorbed or because of damage to the intestines just didn't stick. I don't know exactly what caused the malabsorption but the test results I recieved stated:
A fecal fat score greater than 300 Units indicates there is an increased
amount of dietary fat in the stool which usually is due to gluten-induced
small intestinal malabsorption/damage when associated with gluten
My fecal fat score was 912 and I do lose weight and get very symptomatic following gluten ingestion so for now I have to assume thats the main problem. However, if I dont reestablish the beneficial flora what problems can this cause for me?
