Re: Question about Nystatin

I get mine from a Southern California pharmacy that caters to holistic practitioners as well as the traditional MD stuff. Mine is powder and is real bitter. But I always said I would go out and eat dirt if it made me feel better. Didn't know how true that statement would become! LOL That's cool that someone figured out you shouldn't put Sugar in a nystatin liquid. The liquid use to only come sweetened with sugar, if you can imagine! What a waste!

The label on my Rx says: "10 Nystatin powder 6.2 MU/gm. pwd Paddoc" (sounds like the brand you are talking about) I don't understand the measurements/weights. I need to order more so I will ask the pharmacist. I pay about $36 for that amount. I'll bet online is cheaper. I'll check it out. Thanks for sharing!

I don't use tablets as once you swallow it your stomach has to break down the coating and sort out the binders etc. = takes time

You said "... two bottles of NP." What is NP? Nystatin Powder, I guess? Thanks, nancy
