First of all I would like to say that I think it's great you have started a fast. Fasting is a great way to start healing the body. How long do you plan to do this fast? Also, what are you going to be allowing yourself to eat or drink while on this fast?
Concerning the candida diet....Basically candida live on sugar. So the candida diet eliminates all Sugar from your diet. This includes "natural sugars" as well that are found in fruit and some vegetables (carrots, beats). As you probably know all carbohydrates are digested as Sugar so all carbs must be eliminated as well. This would include all breads, pastas, cereals, and most grains. Many people also eliminate all fermented foods such as alcohol, vinegar etc...this would eliminate all salad dressings, ketchup, and mustard from your diet since they all contain vinegar.
So your basically left with meat, green veggies, and eggs. Some people will eat almonds as a snack as they have some carbs but are mostly protien.
The candida diet must be something done LONG TERM!! So you can't really compare it to a fast. You're trying to starve the little buggers to death so it takes a while.
