Re: Fighting Yeast With Yeast

Hi Tyler. I'm using Jarrow Formulas Saccharomyces Boulardii+MOS in conjunction with Pure brand Lactobacillus Sporogenes and Nutricology Symbiotics with FOS. I have stopped taking all anti-fungals, but I have continued a strict low carbohydrate diet.
The idea is that the more agressive S. Boulardii will out compete the candida for resources and space on the intestine walls. When a crack appears in candida's armor I want to immediately exploit it, so I am also taking L. Sporogenes. L Sporogenes is a SPORE forming lactobacteria, it can easily survive stomach acid. It is also a very tough and aggresive lactobacteria. I am taking the Symbiotics for similar reasons. When the S. Boulardii clears some space on the intestinal walls, I want plenty of lactobacteria ready to implant. I am also eating home fermented yogurt and kefir.
I have been very skeptical of FOS and MOS (inulin) in the past. I decided to take a chance. So far, I have suffered no noticable ill effects from the FOS.
I am NOT suggesting that anyone else try this. Let me be the guinea pig. I will be delighted to share my results with everyone. I think I should know something in a couple of weeks.
I have stopped taking anti-fungals because S. Boulardii IS a yeast. A good yeast though, and I surely do not want to kill it.
