Hi Belle. I feel your pain. I am a stepmother and I imagine all curezone reader grandmothers, stepmothers, and other caregivers without ultimate authority struggle with this. I continue to deflect arguments from my stepkids and their mom about everything I try to get them to do to improve their health.

That said, we all know that the body has an incredible power to heal itself if given the right support. MOre than anything, this girl needs weeks of full nights' sleep to cover her sleep debt. And more water. Lots of water. After this ailment has passed, she also needs fruits and veggies.

But you know all this stuff already. I presume you're looking for more intellectual guidance, tips on how to get around the barricade your daughter (intentionally or not) puts between your granddaughter and her health. The only thing that works in my situation is to simply spend as much time as possible with my stepkids, and to use that time wisely. Not being a nag, but using every opportunity that arises to educate. Modeling my behavior, answering every detail and giving the "whys" to the guestions they ask about my foods, drinks, flushes, hygiene habits, etc. and going into detail. I don't hold back any info. They need to hear it from me because they're not hearing it anywhere else. Kids are not dumb, over time they see who is healthy and why they are that way.

Don't rest. You are the one who's being called to help your granddaughter learn the proper way to live. Don't give up!!! You're not the only one. Maybe all together we can change the declining course of our society's health and wellbeing. You have my best wishes. Tweet
