You are right to be concerned about in-vitro data. Cells in a dish on the benchtop are a very far cry from what happens in the body. Many miracle cures and such often use cell culture data to bolster their claims...never never do they repeat the experiment in a intact human body...or animal for that matter. You could probably put garden topsoil in a dish with cells and it would kill virus...be very very skeptical of cell culture claims!!
