It has been a little over a month since taking my first 100 mg capsule of BHT. The first day I took BHT, I started getting a small breakout. I took a 350 mg capsule with food in addition to the 100 mg that I had taken earlier, touched the spot with some olive oil and then put powdered BHT on top of that. The red bump was totally gone by the next day. It never went into a full breakout stage. A few days later, I started getting a small, red, pimple like spot (smaller than the previous one) and using using the oil and powdered BHT again, it disappeared within a few hours. Since that time, I have not had a bump or major breakout. (Which, considering the frequency that I was getting them, is pretty close to a miracle!)I've even been eating some of my previous "trigger" foods (just a little) such as shrimp, chocolate, pepper without any incident. I've been keeping a very close watch.
Right now, I'm taking one 350 mg capsule a day. One seems to keep me from breaking out. I took 2 capsules yesterday and 2 today just to be on the safe side after eating what I thought might be "triggers" but, so far, no problem.
